The Performance Emphasis requires

The core courses for all theatre majors:

• Introduction to Acting (THEA 1)
• Visual Arts of the Theatre (THEA 2)
• Theatre Crafts Sets/Costumes/Properties (THEA 20A)
  or Management/Lights/Sound (THEA 20B)
• 3 Courses on the History of Theatre (THEA 110, THEA 111, and THEA 115)
• Modern Dance (DANCE 10a or 10b)
• A specialized movement class such as Kabuki (THEA 19), Mime (THEA 13), or Exploration of Cultual Style (DANCE 150)
• Senior Seminar (THEA 190)
• Senior Thesis (THEA 191)
• 4 Theatre Production Crew Assignments (THEA 52)

PLUS:

• Intermediate Acting (THEA 12)
• Make-up (THEA 17)
• 3 Courses in the Studio Acting Series (THEA 100)
• Senior Project in Performance (THEA 192)

A student with a Performing Emphasis in Theatre will be pre-cast in one of the departmental productions for their Senior Project in Performance. The Senior Thesis will be written the semester before and will deal with the assigned project.
